Maple Johnnycake (Corn Bread)
- ½ cups yellow corn meal
- ¾ cup of King Arthur Flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- ½ cup (Grade B recommended)
- ½ cup of milk
Preheat oven to 400º. Mix dry ingredients, set aside. Melt butter; add milk, syrup and egg. Mix with dry ingredients just to moisten. Bake in buttered cornstick or muffin pans 12-15 minutes, 8"X8: baking pan 18-20 minutes. Best served with Morse Farm pure Vermont Maple Syrup or Morse Farm Maple Cream.
