Maple Johnnycake (Corn Bread)
  • ½ cups yellow corn meal
  • ¾ cup of King Arthur Flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup (Grade B recommended)
  • ½ cup of milk
Preheat oven to 400º. Mix dry ingredients, set aside. Melt butter; add milk, syrup and egg. Mix with dry ingredients just to moisten. Bake in buttered cornstick or muffin pans 12-15 minutes, 8”X8: baking pan 18-20 minutes. Best served with Morse Farm pure Vermont Maple Syrup or Morse Farm Maple Cream.
